Role : Mechanical Engineer 

Duties:

• Research on different Mechanical/ Structural  design methodologies for achieving high quality results. 

• 3DCAD modeling of products for preparation of computational models ( using ANSYS Space claim and Inventor) 

• Preparation , Planning and Solving of Finite element computational model in ANSYS Workbench

• Design of composite structures and study of their manufacturability.

• Supporting Aero design team in Developing aerodynamic simulation case files ( CFD). 

• Preparation of computational model for high fidelity Fluid- structure interaction models using Systems Coupling approach.  

• Ensure that the materials being implemented are suitable for different use cases. For instance, verifying the space rating for the parts being used for space missions. 

• Support product sourcing, purchasing and selection as required by the design process. 

• Provide technical and engineering support for day-to-day processing, product development and process improvements. 

• Work on assembly and  integration of the subsystems of the project/ Products.  

• Confirm system and product capabilities by designing for  feasibility and testing methods and properties.

• Prepare product/ design reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing information and trends. 

• Participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs and codes.

• Work on Prototyping of the designs using methods such as 3d printing, Composite Modelling. 

• Planning & execution of test and evaluation phase for the different components designed and manufactured. 

• Delivering of high quality and reliable mechanical design support to cross-team work. 

• Technical Consultation and engagement with external stakeholders. 

• Work on the entire project phase from understanding customer requirements to project planning with the team ; working in design, manufacturing and testing of the products being developed. 

• Ensuring that the design methods implemented adhere to international standards ( ASTM, ASME) 

• Engaging with manufacturers for design consultation and prototyping of the designs. 

• Experimental test planning for the products being designed and carrying out those with precision. 

• Test data collection and analysis to study the trends of the results and make conclusions out of those results.

• Providing Expert advice to the team members related to the Mechanical aspect of the projects. 

• System thinking approach and its feasibility study for dandelions 

•  Standardization of requirement writing and methods to avoid ambiguity in communication to deliver expectations of all stakeholders. 

•  Research on Model based systems engineering  and exploring the open source requirement writing and analyzing softwares for planning different phases of the project ( such as design, manufacturing, integration , verification and validation). 

• Working towards automation of the simulations and optimization of the geometry.

Accomplishments

• Organized a Requirement writing and analysis workshop to impart knowledge to fellow teammates for smooth functioning of the projects and also in developing the problem solving skill of the team. 

• Introduced systems thinking approach in the project planning and initiated a system level approach to project execution. 

• Introduction of Issue analysis framework  and Pugh matrix in the design process to quantity the decisions made. 

Company: JSAI AERO PTY.LTD. 

Role: Mechanical Design Team Member 

Duties :

• Preparing 3D scanned raw data  of Automotive parts using Einscan HX scanner. 

• Preparing the design of automotive parts to be made into composite ( Carbon fiber and Fibreglass) parts for Japanese cars using 3d scanning tools.

• Creating part files from the mesh data for rapid prototyping using cad software (Solid Works,

GEOMAGIC DESIGN X ) and slicing of the files for Prototyping( 3d Printing).

•  Post processing of the printed parts to obtain the final finished part. .

• Assisting the manufacturing team with technical assistance and procurement of materials.

• Assisting the manufacturing teams in day to day tasks when needed  (preparing deliveries,  mould preparation and parts cleaning).
